​We are currently accepting previously unpublished* submissions from adult LGBTQIA writers and artists who live and/or learn in Pennsylvania for our inaugural issue (Summer 2025, PRIDE).

WHAT TO SUBMIT

 

(Please limit your submission to five works, no matter the genre. You are welcome to submit multiple genres.)

Fiction Submissions

We are accepting single fiction works between 500 and 5000 words attached to your submission email as a single Word-formatted (.doc) or Acrobat-formatted (.pdf) document. 

​​​

Poetry Submissions

We are accepting poems up to 120 lines of poetry (this could be one poem of no more than 120 lines or several poems totaling no more than 120 lines) attached to your submission email as a single Word-formatted (.doc) or Adobe-formatted (.pdf) document.

Drama Submissions

We are accepting dramatic scenes up to 10 minutes of run time which feature a complete arc attached to your submission email as a single Word-formatted (.doc) or Adobe-formatted (.pdf) document.

​

Non-Fiction Submissions

We are accepting essays between 500 and 5000 words attached to your submission email as a single Word-formatted (.doc) or Acrobat-formatted (.pdf) document.

Visual Arts

We are accepting visual arts (photography, painting, sculpture, collage) as photographs attached to your submission email as high resolution .jpegs.

HOW TO SUBMIT

We are currently accepting submissions via email at submitttoreact@gmail.com

​

Include your first and last name, your email, the title(s) and genre(s) of work(s), as well as a brief (20-30 word) bio to be included in the case of publication. Don't forget to attach your work as per the instructions above.

SOME NOT SO FINE PRINT

 

Work will be accepted on a rolling basis. 

​

You may be asked to make small edits to your submission as a condition of acceptance.

​

Unfortunately, we cannot offer an honorarium for publication at this time; however, as many writers/artists know, publishing credits are their own reward.

​

By consenting to publication, you are awarding REACT one-time publication rights. You are also consenting to being considered for publication in our annual. You retain all other rights.​

​

*"Previously unpublished" may include work that has been circulated to an insulated population, such as in a classroom or included in a newsletter. If you have any questions about your work, please email us at reactjournal@gmail.com
